Does joining the Custom Request List guarantee me a custom order?
No. Joining the Custom Request List lets me know that you’re interested in having a piece made, but it does not guarantee a production spot, final price, or completion date. When an opening becomes available, I’ll contact you to see if you’re ready to move forward.

Does it cost anything to join the Custom Request List?
Not at all! Joining the list is completely free, and no deposit or payment is required. You’ll only be asked for a deposit if you decide to move forward after a custom-order spot becomes available and we’ve finalized your order details.

What happens when a custom-order spot becomes available?
I’ll contact you so we can finalize your design, colors, size, yarn choice, price, and estimated completion window. Once everything looks good to you, a 50% non-refundable deposit officially reserves your production spot.

What if I’m not ready when you contact me?
That’s okay! You can pass on the available opening and remain on the Custom Request List for a future spot. I want you to order when the timing feels right for you.

How do I get started?
Simply complete the Custom Order Request Form and join the free Custom Request List. Tell me what you’d like made, your size, colors, yarn preference, budget, and any ideas you already have. I’ll take it from there!

What can I currently order custom-made?
Custom orders are currently available for beanies and hats, shawls and wraps, cocoon cardigans, and 3D Flower Cardigans. I may occasionally consider other ideas, so you’re always welcome to ask!

How much do custom orders cost?

These are starting prices. Your final quote will depend on size, yarn, materials, design details, and the complexity of your piece.

Why are 3D Flower Cardigans priced differently?
3D Flower Cardigans require significantly more handwork, construction, and finishing than many of my other designs. Each cardigan is individually quoted based on its size, color palette, flower placement, yarn choice, and overall design complexity. Because of this, these statement pieces begin around $350.

What yarn can I choose for my custom piece?
I currently offer two yarn options:

Signature Acrylic is my high-quality acrylic option, selected for softness, beautiful color, stitch definition, durability, and comfortable everyday wear. It is included in my standard starting prices.

Malabrigo is a premium 100% superwash merino wool known for its incredible softness and beautifully hand-dyed colorways. Because of the higher material cost, Malabrigo custom pieces will receive a higher final quote.

Can you help me choose my colors or design?
Absolutely! You don’t need to have every detail figured out before joining the list. Tell me what you’re imagining, share colors you love, or send inspiration photos, and we can work through the design together before your order is booked.

Will my finished piece look exactly like a photo or another S.H.O. piece?
Every S.H.O. piece is handmade, so small variations are part of what makes your piece unique. I’ll follow the design, colors, sizing, and details we agree upon, but handmade items naturally have their own individual character.

How does payment work?
Once your order details and final price are confirmed, a 50% non-refundable deposit is required to reserve your production spot. I’ll send you a secure payment link connected to the S.H.O. shop. PayPal, Venmo, and Cash App are also accepted. The remaining balance is due once your piece is complete and before shipping, delivery, or pickup.

Why is the deposit non-refundable?
Your deposit reserves time in my production schedule and allows me to begin purchasing or setting aside the materials needed specifically for your piece. Because that time and those materials are committed to your order, the deposit is non-refundable.

How long will my custom order take?
Most custom pieces take approximately 3–6 weeks from the time your order is officially booked. Larger or more detailed pieces may take longer, particularly 3D Flower Cardigans. I’ll give you an estimated completion window before you pay your deposit.

Can I request a specific completion date?
Yes. You’re welcome to tell me if you need your piece by a certain date. I’ll let you know whether I can accommodate it before you pay your deposit. Requested dates are not guaranteed until we’ve discussed the project and I’ve confirmed the timeline.

Can I make changes after my order has been booked?
Small changes may be possible if I haven’t reached that stage of your project yet. Significant changes after materials have been purchased or work has begun may result in an additional charge or an adjusted completion date. Please contact me as soon as possible if you’d like to change something.

Will I receive updates while my piece is being made?
Yes! I want you to enjoy seeing your piece come to life. I can share progress updates during the creation process, especially for larger projects such as cardigans.

Do you ship custom orders?
Yes. Custom pieces can be shipped once they are complete and the remaining balance has been paid. Any applicable shipping costs will be discussed with you as part of your order.
