Some Things Only Happen Once

Because I create in small quantities and often follow inspiration rather than mass-producing the same design again and again, some S.H.O. pieces may never return exactly as you see them.

Sometimes I find a yarn I may never be able to source again.

Sometimes a color combination happens almost by accident.

And sometimes I create something simply because I wanted to see where the idea would go—and once it's finished, I know I don't want to make another one exactly like it.

Those pieces become part of Found Only Once.

It's one of my favorite parts of creating this way: not always knowing what will wander out of the studio next.

Made From a World of Inspiration

A moss-covered trail, wildflowers growing where no one planted them, the strange colors of mushrooms tucked beneath the trees. Sea glass, tide pools, colorful shells. A sunset over the water. An old piece of crochet that looks like it could have been tucked inside a grandmother's wardrobe for fifty years.

Victorian lace. Cottage gardens. Vintage textiles. Hand-dyed yarn. Unexpected combinations of colors that shouldn't work together—but somehow do.

All of it eventually finds its way onto my crochet hook.

That's how the world of S.H.O. has grown.

The Woodland explores the colors, textures, and little discoveries found beneath the trees—from quiet sage and moss to wildflowers, autumn leaves, and bright flashes of color against the forest floor.

The Coast follows the water, drawing inspiration from sea glass and sandy neutrals to coral reefs, lavender skies, tropical color, neon tide pools, and everything the tide might leave behind.

And sometimes inspiration leads somewhere that doesn't quite belong to either.
